Jamie Gorelick - Civic Leader

Jamie Gorelick is a litigator in Washington, D.C., who has had a varied career in law and public service. Jamie Gorelick was born in Brooklyn, New York, to a father who had immigrated to the United States from Russia as a young child and a mother who was the daughter of immigrants. As a child, Jamie Gorelick lived in Louisiana and Texas before returning to Brooklyn, then Levittown and then Great Neck, New York, where she attended public schools. Jamie Gorelick attended Harvard College, graduating in 1972, and Harvard Law School, graduating in 1975. During law school, Jamie Gorelick was a Teaching Fellow in the Government Department.

Jamie Gorelick is married to Dr. Richard Waldhorn, a noted pulmonologist and former Chair of the Department of Medicine at Georgetown University and currently Distinguished Scholar at the Center for Bio-Security. They have two children, Daniel and Dana. Jamie Gorelick's brother, Steven Gorelick, is Cyrus F. Tolman Professor of Earth Sciences at Stanford University.
